Go Baby Go Appalachia

Imagine not being able to move independently, moving too slowly that you can’t catch up with your friends or having to be picked up by your parents to go somewhere.  NOW imagine getting your FIRST  set of wheels that gives you the FREEDOM to move WHERE you want to GO!

Go Baby Go Appalachia is an innovative program where we fabricate Bumbo scoots and modify power-wheeled cars to give kids freedom and mobility. We use common materials such as PVC pipe, fasteners,  swim noodles and foam.  It is a partnership with local university engineering students, physical and occupational students that benefit children with physical disabilities.

Why is this important?

Insurance does not cover the cost of wheelchairs for young children. Lack of independent mobility can cause a regression of motor, social, communication and emotional skills of young children.  Independent mobility leads to a child being included with their peers fostering friendships.
